Akron Core City Plan

VAA, worked in conjunction with EE&K a Perkins Eastman company, in developing a long-term vision plan for the future of Downtown Akron and the emerging urban University Park neighborhoods. This comprehensive plan leveraged the activities of key stakeholders (Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron General Medical Center, Summa Health System, and The University of Akron, among others) to create a new network of public spaces that make people want to come to – and stay in – Downtown Akron. The traditional, walkable urban neighborhood will offer diverse cultural, recreational and leisure opportunities along with quality education and excellent healthcare.
