VAA led the design of this new $4.5 million, 31,000 SF residence hall, which features a suite style configuration for 70 upperclassmen. To blend with the existing campus fabric, the traditional architecture of the façade includes two types of brick with accent limestone and an asphalt shingle gable roof. Each suite houses four students, and each student has his/her own bedroom and shares a living space, kitchenette and bathroom. Numerous environmentally friendly elements were incorporated in the design, including low E glass, low odor emitting (VOC) materials, and no HCFCs or halon to reduce ozone depletion. Additionally, all of the storm water is sent to the lake so the storm water management does not affect the city infrastructure.
